Myron Chandler was born in Berlin, VT, and attended Northfield High School, graduating with the class of 1881. He entered Lewis College (Norwich University was named Lewis College from 1880-1884) in 1881 and was the valedictorian of the class of 1885. He earned his A.M. degree from Norwich University in 1898. During his time at Norwich, he was an editor of the Reveille and a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Myron Chandler received his M.D. from Vermont Medical College in 1891 and served as a physician in Barre, VT, beginning in 1893. Chandler was married to Alice May Kendall in 1897.
