The fonds consists of records generated in the course of research for the biographies of John Diefenbaker and Lester B. Pearson. Interviewees include Donald Cameron, Jack Davis, Grace MacInnis, Stuart Keate, Norman McKenzie and Harold Winch. Fonds includes recorded interviews and their transcripts and video tapes of an interview with Grace MacInnis.

Stuart Keate was born in Vancouver, graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1935 and went into journalism, serving as a sports writer for the Vancouver Province. From 1942-1945 he was an information officer in the north Atlantic and Pacific theatres. After the war, Keate served as Bureau Chief of Time Inc. in Montreal and publisher of the Victoria Daily Times (1951-1964) and the Vancouver Sun (1964-1978). Peter Stursberg was born in August 1913 in China. He began his career as a journalist in Victoria, and was later a correspondent during World War II and a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery in Ottawa. Grace MacInnis was the daughter of J.S. Woodsworth, co-founder of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation. Married to Angus MacInnis, she has enjoyed an active political career, both provincially and federally. She was party and caucus secretary until 1941. In 1958 MacInnis became provincial president of the CCF. In 1965, after her husband's death, she began a nine-year career as MP for Vancouver-Kingsway.
