Keate, Stuart, 1913-1987.
Stuart Keate was born in Vancouver, graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1935 and went into journalism, serving as a sports writer for the Vancouver Province. From 1942-1945 he was an information officer in the north Atlantic and Pacific theatres. After the war, Keate served as Bureau Chief of Time Inc. in Montreal and publisher of the Victoria Daily Times (1951-1964) and the Vancouver Sun (1964-1978). After retirement he wrote a memoir of his forty-five year career called "Paper Boy" that was published in 1980.
