Arthur Mayse was born in Manitoba and moved to British Columbia at an early age. He attended the University of British Columbia and then began working in a variety of journalism positions that would take him from Vancouver to Toronto. Mayse was a successful story writer from the 1940s to the 1960s. During this time he sold hundreds of short stories to major American and Canadian publications and published 3 novels, including "Desperate Search" which was later made into a motion picture.
