Arnold T. Wilson, Jr. papers.

General description of the collection: The Arnold T. Wilson, Jr. papers include a completed World War II Veterans Survey questionnaire which traces Wilson's military service and postwar activities and comments on various aspects of military life, and a brief memoir. He says that American weapons, equipment, clothing, rations and supply services were very good but that American tanks were no match for the German Panthers and Tigers. Leadership was also very good. He praises the officers commissioned from the battlefield as the best because of their combat experience. Military/civilian relations were excellent: "all over England and France we were treated wonderful even in Germany." Morale for the 3rd Armored Division was very high. He was wounded and spent two months in recovery. He describes a typical day in combat and in the rear. In the memoir, he gives two incidents from his tank in battle.
