Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Arnold T. Wilson, Jr. was born on 16 March 1918 in Blacksher, AL. He was drafted and entered the Army on 13 January 1942. He took basic training at Armored Force Training Center, Fort Knox, KY, and joined the 3rd Armored Division at Camp Polk, LA. He went overseas in September 1943 and landed on Omaha Beach on 23 June 1944. He fought in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe Campaigns. He participated in the liberation of Nordhausen Concentration Camp. He was discharged on 25 September 1945 at Fort McPhearson, GA, and returned to civilian life.
