George H. Sanford papers, 1798-1870.

Correspondence, deeds, indentures, patents, and other papers, 1798-1870, pertaining to land transactions, mostly in northern New York State, particularly Warren County. Many of these involve property of his father, George Sanford (1805-1862). Many, but not all, of the documents pertain to members of the Sanford family and the materials include deeds and letters of Gerrit Smith.
