Daybook, June, 1776 - July, 1777, recording sales of shirts, blankets, fabrics, shoes, coats, leather breeches, everlasting breeches, hats, mittens, furs, etc., mostly to military men, many by order of General Philip John Schuyler. Some of his more frequent customers were Philip Van Rensselaer, Benjamin Egberts (storekeeper at Fort George), Abraham Ten Eyck, and George Measam, Commissary of Clothing. The book also includes some accounts of the Public Store, and of the Public Cash.

In response to the expansion of the Continental Army the number of staff was increased and reorganized in 1776. Changes included the creation of a new unit to supplement George Washington's personal staff. This special unit, the Commander in Chief's Guard, was formed on March 12, 1776 with Captain Caleb Gibbs (formerly adjutant of the 14th Continental Regiment and appointed Aid to Major General Greene) as commander.
