Scrapbook created in 1843 by Edward D. Ingraham containing newsclippings from Philadelphia newspapers, 1842-1843, of columns appearing under the signatures of McDonough and "Valley Forge" concerning controversial allegations implicating American soldier and statesman Joseph Reed in the betrayal of the American cause during the Revolutionary War. Volume contains an introduction and cover letter by Reed's Grandson, William B. Reed, who publicly took part in the controversy.
