This collection consists primarily of Christmas cards created by Professor Danielson. The collection also includes biographical news clippings and a talk presented to the Ames Eta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma regarding her process of selecting a Christmas card theme. The collection contains several photographs of Danielson's Christmas cards displayed in her home. The original printing blocks used for producing her 1963 Christmas card are included in the artifact collection.

Donna Rae Danielson was born July 28, 1934 in Nevada, Iowa. Danielson received her B.S. (1957) and M.S. (1961) from Iowa State University in applied art. After graduation, she was advertising manager (1957-1959) for the Utica Clothing Company in Des Moines, Iowa. Danielson then joined the textiles and clothing department faculty at the University of Nebraska (1961-1964). On March 22, 1948, Iowa State College (University) sponsored a 90th anniversary celebration in honor of the founding of the college, which occurred on the same date in 1858 when the charter act establishing a state agricultural college became law.
