Snapshots made by Newbegin when he worked at the Red Lake Trading Post, 1906-1911. Views of the interior and exterior of the trading post; of Mr. Preston and Mr. Fleming, its operators; of cowboys, Native Americans, and traders who used the post. What appears to be a self portrait by Newbegin at a clerk's desk. Views of the reservations at Navajo, including landscapes and the boarding school at Tuba City; and at Hopi, showing pueblos, dances, and a German mission. Other scenes around Arizona show Flagstaff street scenes, a lumber mill, and the Lowell Observatory; Albuquerque and the Fred Harvey Building at the Alvarado; and Tucson. Includes scenes from Newbegin's farm near Lewiston, Maine; Peak Island, off the coast of Maine; and unidentified locales from a railroad trip, possibly along the West Coast.
