George Graham, of Brady's Bend, Pennsylvania, first entered into the lumber business with Judge A. Cook of Cooksburg in 1870. In 1874 they moved Graham, Forcht & Company to East Brady, Armstrong Co., Pa. to increase the scale of their planing mill and lumber sales. George Graham (1770-1830) served as acting US Secretary of War from 1815-1818, president of the Washington branch of the Bank of America from 1817-1823, and from 1823-1830 as commissioner of the general land office of the United States.
