The Women's Army Corps (WAC) was the women's branch of the US Army. It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1942, and converted to full status as the WAC in 1943. Harriet A. "Polly" Allen was a member of the Women's Army Corps during World War II (WWII). She was the daughter of Judd L. and Hattie Allen of 1901 East 33rd Street, Vancouver, Washington. Allen served as a private in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) Detachment, Headquarters (HQ) Far Eastern Air Force Photograph Section.
