Summary: Hill family correspondence, bills, receipts, recipes, embroidery patterns, scrapbook and other personal papers relating to personal business, travels around Arizona, and home matters. Also included is promotional literature for the U.S. Army Womens Army Corps, 1944, and Old Pueblo Club menus, 1944. Miscellaneous items include Southern Pacific Railroad train tickets and a brochure of dining car recipes, a brochure for Triangle T Guest Ranch (Dragoon, Ariz.), and "Furies money" from the world premiere of move "The Furies" in Tucson in July 1950, and a suit and judgement record of the Tucson Merchants Association. Correspondence from family in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas reflect concerns about the depression and family affairs.

The Women's Army Corps (WAC) was the women's branch of the US Army. It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1942, and converted to full status as the WAC in 1943. Its first director was Oveta Culp Hobby, the wife of a prominent politician and publisher in Houston, Texas. About 150,000 American women served in the WAAC and WAC during World War II. Biographical note: Rose Hill was born April 6, 1879 in Washington County, Mississippi. In 1913, she moved to Tucson where she worked for 12 years for Meyers & Bloom. At some point, she completed a correspondence business course. About 1926, she moved to San Francisco and at a later date she returned to Tucson to live with her sister Blanche Hill.
