Henry B. Arthur papers, 1915-1988 (inclusive).

The papers of Henry Bradford Arthur consist of correspondence, administrative material, research, writings, articles, speeches, clippings, and teaching materials while he was a faculty member teaching Agribusiness at Harvard Business School. Also included are papers relating to his work as a consultant, service as a government economist, and teaching career at Harvard University and American University. Arthur worked for the National Recovery Administration (NRA), the National Emergency Council (NEC), Organization of American States (OAS), and the Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the early years of Franklin Roosevelt's presidency (1932-1936). Arthur's research and required him to travel to Latin America and Europe where he gave seminars and speeches at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empressa (IESE), Spain. His teaching and consulting work focused on the economic aspects of agriculture and commodity markets, specifically the banana trade in Latin America and the competition between the United Fruit Company and Standard Fruit and Steamship Company.
