The National Peace Jubilee and Music Festival took place in Boston, Massachusetts on June 15-19, 1869, to commemorate the restoration of peace four years after the American Civil War. It was an "immense" gathering of orchestral and choral performers. A second festival was held in 1872. Patrick Gilmore, a noted bandmaster of the era, organized both Peace Jubilees.
