Karl E. Goedecke (1902-1979) was a book dealer based in Hazleton (eastern), Pennsylvania. Author Elsie Singmaster was born and educated in Pennsylvania, and lived in the Commonwealth nearly all her life. Her initial success as a writer came with stories for children, but she soon graduated to adult novels and stories.
