Peapack Tract (N.J.) land records, 1744-1786.

This collection consists of surveys, maps, indentures, correspondence, and land journals regarding the Peapack Tract in Somerset County, New Jersey dating from 1744-1786. Edward Willmott, Robert Killpatrick, and others took the surveys that date from 1744-1763. The indentures date from 1763-1786 and detail land transactions of George Hyde, Albert Vorhees, John Clawson, William Skinner, and General William Alexander (Lord Sterling). The correspondence of Robert Chapman, John Logan, James Parker (1725-1797) of Perth Amboy, and John Stevens (1715-1792) regards Peapack land transactions. The two volumes of land journals were kept by Andrew Johnson detail Peapack land transactions and property measurements from 1749-1763.
