Wilson papers, 1939-1979.

The personal papers of E.S. Wilson, who was Dean of Admission at Amherst College from 1946-1971. Included is his correspondence with Amherst College alumni and other deans of admission at other colleges and universities. Also includes speeches, lectures and chapel talks and copies of some of his published works. There are his working papers for committees and commissions on which he served, as well as documents related to his work on the Advisory Board of Holyoke Community College.

Wilson was a graduate of Amherst College (A.B., 1929). He served as the Amherst College Alumni Secretary, 1939-1946 and as Dean of Admission, 1946-1971. He was active in the Association of College Admissions Counselors and was at one time its president. In addition, he served as a director of the College Entrance Examination Board and was on the Advisory Board of Holyoke Community College, 1966-1971.
