Wilson, Eugene Smith, 1905-

Wilson was a graduate of Amherst College (A.B., 1929). He served as the Amherst College Alumni Secretary, 1939-1946 and as Dean of Admission, 1946-1971. He was active in the Association of College Admissions Counselors and was at one time its president. In addition, he served as a director of the College Entrance Examination Board and was on the Advisory Board of Holyoke Community College, 1966-1971. As a result of his work at Amherst College and through various organizations he was known by the time of his retirement as the "Dean of Admissions Deans" in the United States. Wilson died Feb. 14, 1981.
