Chart detailing sailing hazards and fishing grounds off Cape Canso south of Chedabucto Bay in Nova Scotia. Detached from an office book comprised of various manuscripts relating to the administration of British colonies in the Caribbean, Nova Scotia, and New York: Great Britain. Board of Trade. Plantation reports, 1717-1722 (Ayer MS 339). The map accompanies a letter to Daniel Pulteney, a commissioner of the Council of Trade and Plantations: Sir, the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations command me to send you the inclos'd copy of a map of Canço Harbour drawn by Captn. Young ... without any view to the disputes between France and us. And therefore it is suppos'd that he has done it without partiality. ... [Signed] Wm. Popple. Whitehal, Novembr ye 24th, 1720.
