Lillian Adlow Friedberg was born on December 18, 1897 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Eastern European immigrants who arrived in the United States in the 1880's. Lillian attended the Dillaway School from 1904-1910 and the Girls' Latin School from 1910-1914, both in Boston.
