Arnold Zweig letter to R. Toole Stott, 1944 Dec. 31.

Zweig writes to Stott, 31 Dec. 1944, via air letter, willingly inscribing a copy of his novel Der Streit um den Sergeanten Grischa. He laments the horrors of World War II, and suggests it could have been avoided if more Germans had thought as he did. He hopes to meet Stott some day, and mentions his new novel, The axe of Wandsbek.
