Jackson photograph collection consists of photos from circa 1965 to 1971 during the period which General Jackson served several different tours in Vietnam both as commanding officer, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and as commanding general, Region 1, MACV. The photos are excellent for all aspects (office duty, parades and ceremonies, and active operations in-country with fighting troops) of the Vietnam War. Many photos are of joint operations and training with Army, Vietnam (ARVN) troops.

Charles A. Jackson was a United States (U.S.) Army officer who attained the rank of brigadier general. He graduated from the Citadel in 1942. During World War II (WWII), he saw action in the North African and Italian campaigns. After the war, he was discharged and then was recalled to duty in 1952 with the 40th Infantry Division in the Korean War.
