Records of the Committee for Building the Meeting House, 1774-1805. Includes account book, 1774-76, minutes of the Committee, 1774-1776, and a folder of 86 receipts, subscriptions, and Committee reports, 1774-1805. The latter includes receipts for work done to the meeting house in 1784 to replace windows and repair locks, as well as other renovations in 1796, 1800, and 1805. The account book, 1774-76, also includes the medicine and drug accounts of Hull & Lawrence, 1780-1783.

While the Monthly Meeting of New York, also known as Flushing until 1795, was well established by 1682, the date of its first organization is unknown. A large brick meeting house at Queen Street (now Pearl) in Manhattan, now was completed in 1776. It was built on land purchased in 1774 on the southeast side of the street, above Cherry. While the Monthly Meeting of New York, also known as Flushing until 1795, was well established by 1682, the date of its first organization is unknown. After 1828, at the time of the Hicksite Separation, there were two New York Monthly Meetings; the Orthodox met at Rutgers Medical College and later on Henry Street, and the Hicksites retained the Rose Street and Hester Street Meeting houses.
