Clark, Gruber and Co. was originally founded by Austin M. Clark, Milton E. Clark and Emanuel H. Gruber in Leavenworth, Kan. (1858). The company moved to Denver (ca.1859). Lyle Wesley Dorsett (1938- ) served as Professor of History at the University of Denver, Denver, Colo. from 1972-1983, specializing in urban history. He earned his Ph. D. in history from the University of Missouri in 1965.
