He expresses thanks for their appreciation of "The years of triumph"; comments on pro and anti-Frost readers including Helen Vendler; discusses the "complicated" friendship with Bernard De Voto and the difficulties of writing about Frost's summer at Breadloaf, 1938, and the relationship between Frost and Kay and Ted Morrison.
