Michigan tourism scrapbook, 1936-1940.

Scrapbook with newspaper clippings from the Grand Rapids Press, 1936-1940, with several illustrated series of articles, written by Stace. The series include: Tourist trails of Mich., up Mich. riviera, 1936; Following smoke trails, along Mich.'s shores, 1937; By big sea waters in farthest Mich., 1938; Secrets of Michilimackinac revealed by Gage papers, 1938; Mich.'s mystic dunes, ages old, still active, 1939; Mich.'s broad beaches, add to vacation pleasures, 1940; Mich.'s forests primeval, murmuring pines and hemlocks, 1940; and Mich.'s inland lakes, rich in summer allure, 1940. The contents and pages of the scrapbook are extremely acidic and fragile. Some pages and the back cover are detached from the scrapbook. The illustrated paper cover has a clipper ship and "Scrap Book" on it.

Stace was born on April 26, 1875, the son of Francis A. and Margaret Mary (McMahon). He married Lillian M. O'Connor on June 1, 1899, with whom he had three children. Stace attended the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.L. He worked as the managing editor of the Grand Rapids Press and the Director of the Utilites Information Bureau of Mich.
