Founded in 1936 in Berea, Kentucky, the League was dedicated to improving the health of mothers and children in portions of eastern Kentucky through the promotion of birth control. The League's service area has included Estill, Harlan, Garrard, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Powell, Rockcastle, and Whitley counties.
