Scrapbooks, 1926-1937.

Scrapbooks, 1926-1937, include her: student hand books; report cards, 1926-1935; school social events and commencement programs; table favors; pins; tickets; holiday and other cards and notes; hotel menus from a trip, 1936; and newspaper clippings of local events, school and sporting events, family members, and movie stars. A few issues of North Intermediate School's newsletter, The Northern Light, 1932-1934, are included. V. 1, 1926-1936, has many loose pages. V. 2, 1936-1937, is all loose pages. Both scrapbooks are extremely brittle and acidic, and are rapidly disintegrating. They both have colored, paper covers with Egyptian-type boats on a sea.

Mildred was the daughter of Ethyl and Dr. Edward A. Ward, an ostepathic physician. She had a sister, Janice. The family lived at 802 Irving St., Saginaw (Mich.). Mildred was in first grade in 1925 and should have graduated in 1937, but there is no documentation in the scrapbooks that she graduated. Mildred and Janice attended public schools, including North Intermediate School and Arthur Hill High School. The sisters were both active in school events and organizations.
