Autograph letter signed from John Phillips, London, to Sophia Musters [manuscript], 1817 June 1.

Addressed to Madam. Phillips asks the recipient to write an introduction for Mr. Clifford to Mr. Lambe, noting that the managers are busy arranging for the season at this time. Address on letter: New Bond St. On the verso, a note signed from Sophia Musters to George, in which she requests that he read the "inclosed petition about a Mr. Clifford." A pencil annotation identifies the second note as "to George Colman," but it seems more likely that the recipient was George Lamb.
