Contains information pertaining to the following wars and time period: World War I (WWI), World War II (WWII). Contains information pertaining to the following military units and organizations: 373rd United States (U.S.) Engineer Regiment; 398th U.S. Engineer Regiment. General description of the collection: The Frank Frederick Bell papers include numerous published capsule biographies of Bell's life from 1888, but most material covers his service in the two World Wars. Items on WWI consist of primarily on regulations governing Gerstner Field, Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he served, and also includes several photographs. Material on WWII includes training regulations of the 398th Engineers, official and unofficial accounts, maps, regulations, citations, photographs, and cartoons of the 373rd Engineers. Bell's 1946 reminiscence of service in the 373rd is found. A few official documents on his pre- and post-WWII service in the reserves are also available.
