Papers of Homer Hush, Iowa farmer, state government official and political activist. Contains correspondence, including official letters from his service with the Iowa Farmers' Committee for Roosevelt, and the State Department of Agriculture. Includes speeches and radio messages, 1937-1938; minutes of the Iowa Farm Debt Advisory Council, 1936-1937; newsletters and communications from the Kossuth County office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, 1963-1967; and material related to Hush's work with the USDA's Agricultural Adjustment Administration and the Commodity Credit Corporation. Also contains a series of letters from Hush's grandson, Lawrence, written while he was in the Peace Corps. 1964-1966.

Homer Hush, an alternate Iowa delegate to the 1936 Republican National Convention became disillusioned with the GOP and became an ardent Roosevelt supporter. He chaired the Iowa Farmers' Committee for Roosevelt in 1936; served as Iowa Assistant Secretary of Agriculture, 1937-1938; chaired the Iowa Farm Debt Advisory Council; and edited the Marcus News.
