Bret Harte letters and poems, 1858-1890 (bulk 1878-1880).

The collection includes letters to Chatto and Windus, Bayard Taylor, Kate Freiligrath Kroeker, a long letter to Harte's son, Trübner & Co., Russell Smith, and Ernst von Hesse-Wartegg. Also, a second letter to Chatto and Windus, to Dear sir, the pamphlet Oration, poem, and speeches delivered at the Fourth Annual Meeting of the Associated Almuni of the Pacific Coast, containing the Harte poem, "The Lost galleon," and the Jan. 1858 edition of Knickerbocker Magazine, containing the Harte poem, "Dolores."
