Alvah Johnson (1839-1914) was born in Justus, PA the son of Franklin Johnson (1803-1869, born in R.I. and died in PA) and Julia Ann White. Franklin's father (Olney Johnson) and grandfather (Benjamin Johnson) are also indicated, but this document is predominantly the descendants of Alvah's children. Walt Johnson was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1899), and a Baptist pastor in North Carolina and La. He served as secretary of missions in both Louisiana (1907-09) and North Carolina (1915-20). Later he became secretary of the Steward League of Baptist ministers and editor of The Next Step in the Churches, the league's bulletin. He was author of a number of books and articles.
