Walt Johnson was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1899), and a Baptist pastor in North Carolina and La. He served as secretary of missions in both Louisiana (1907-09) and North Carolina (1915-20). Later he became secretary of the Steward League of Baptist ministers and editor of The Next Step in the Churches, the league's bulletin. He was author of a number of books and articles.
