Kenneth Kopf (1904-1997), a native of Iowa, received his B.S. (1930) in Agronomy and Ph. D (1952) in Genetics from Iowa State College (University). He began his career as a plant breeder and worked for F.H. Woodful & Sons (1933-1944), and the Hawaiian Pineapple Company (1944-1949). After working briefly at Iowa State (1949-1952), he moved to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (1952) in Iraq.
