Papers from the Cox family of Green County, Ky. They include letters to two men fighting in the Mexican War. They describe the economic conditions in Greensburg and the attitude towards the war. There is information on slavery in the form of business accounts of labor cost. There are accounts for various enterprises such as tobacco manufacturing, land acquisition, monetary transaction and household expenditures. Archibald Cox was a sheriff of Green County in the 1850's and 1860's.
