In a letter 1917, July 25, Faith Baldwin praises Teasdale's poetry. In a letter 1926 April 4, to Vachel Lindsay, Teasdale comments favorably on some writing by Elizabeth Lindsay. In an undated marginal note Vachel forwards the letter to Elizabeth. In a letter 1926 June 19, Katherine Lee Bates responds to Teasdale's praise of one of her reviews, comments unfavorably on Vachel Lindsay's new poetry, and notes her summer plans. In a letter 1926 October 7, she comments further on her work for "Literary Review," and her admiration for Teasdale's poetry. In a letter 1932 August 10, Harriet Monroe solicits a poem for the 20th birthday number of "Poetry" magazine.

Sarah Teasdale, an American poet, was born in 1884 in Saint Louis, Missouri to John W. Teasdale and Mary E. Willard. She was tutored at home and then graduated from a local private school in 1903. In 1905 she visited Europe and in 1907 she published her first collection of poems.
