Lynda Bird Johnson Robb was born on March 19, 1944 in Washington, D.C., the oldest daughter of Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson. She received a B.A. from the University of Texas in 1966, and married Charles Spittal Robb on December 9, 1967. They had three children: Lucinda Desha (b. 1968), Catherine Lewis (b. 1970), and Jennifer Wickliffe (b. 1978).
