Lynda Bird Johnson Robb was born on March 19, 1944 in Washington, D.C., the oldest daughter of Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson. She received a B.A. from the University of Texas in 1966, and married Charles Spittal Robb on December 9, 1967. They had three children: Lucinda Desha (b. 1968), Catherine Lewis (b. 1970), and Jennifer Wickliffe (b. 1978). She is a writer and served as writer for McCall's Magazine from 1966 to 1968, contributing editor to Ladies Home Journal from 1968 to 1980, and lecturer and board of director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Family Foundation from 1969 to 1995. She also served with the Reading is Fundamental program as lecturer and board of directors (1968), national chair (1996) and chairman (1996 to 2001).
