Pappas photograph collection contains pre-service family shots, his prep school days in 1940 and his activities at USMA, West Point. There are a few photos when he was captain with a group touring a missile facility and several photos while he was G3 of ARADCOM. There are several portrait photos as a cadet and when he was a lieutenant colonel. This collection does not cover his entire career.

George Steve Pappas was a United States (U.S.) Army officer who graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, New York with the class of 1944. He was a G3 in the U.S. Army Air Defense Command (ARADCOM). He retired as a colonel from military service in 1974. Pappas was the first director of the U.S. Army Military History Research Collection, now the U.S. Army Military History Institute. From the description of George S.
