George Steve Pappas was a United States (U.S.) Army officer who graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, New York with the class of 1944. He was a G3 in the U.S. Army Air Defense Command (ARADCOM). He retired as a colonel from military service in 1974. Pappas was the first director of the U.S. Army Military History Research Collection, now the U.S. Army Military History Institute.
