Docket and note in the hand of Thomas Jefferson, 1824-1825.

A letter from John Haveland, Architect, to A.S. Brockenbrough on the subject discusses the carving of composite capitals and suggests a simpler order such as Ionic. A note in Jefferson's hand on the verso reads "Haveland-composite capitals." A hand written catalogue of periodicals [to be ordered for the University of Virginia Library?] is docketed by Jefferson on the verso.
