Papers from the library books of John Dos Passos, 1898-1984.

The collection consists of inserts found in library books belonging to John Dos Passos. The collection contains postcards of European art and architecture; an embroidered postcard; a few stamps, chiefly with19th century postmarks; fragments of letters probably used as book marks; a notice concerning a meeting of the Harvard classical club; notes of addresses and phone numbers; and two small snapshots of a castle. Also a gift tag from "Charlie" [Charles R. Walker?] for a volume of Euripides; a cover letter from Takashi Hayashi to W. Horsley Gantt for a volume of poetry sent to Dos Passos; and a cover letter from David Garst to Elizabeth Dos Passos for a biography of Rosewell Garst. Also clippings regarding Emiliano Zapata and the Mexican Revolution, 1911-1919, with an accompanying postcard of [a morgue?] set up in a home with the bodies of three bullet riddled men displayed.
