Unsigned editorial, reprinted as a broadside from the Florence Morning News, re a controversy during the 1952 Presidential election; the editorial opposes efforts by a faction of South Carolina Democrats to strike the names of the National Democratic Party nominees Adlai Stevenson and John J. Sparkman from the November presidential ballot and to require instead that voters write-in their names. A result of the proposed plan would be inclusion of Republican nominees Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon on the November ballot as the official Democratic candidates, thus forming a "strange political monstrosity," the Dixie G.O.P.
