Collection consists of over 1200 individual interviews arranged by Lewis A. Dexter with people in the fields of government and politics, business, industry, and the military. The interviews are mostly from the period, 1953-1966, transcribed in carbon typescript, some annotated with Dexter's personal impressions and explanations. The collection has been artificially arranged into six series based on the topic of the interviews: Commercial Policy, Military Policy, Civil Defense, Business, Canadian, Voting Patterns. A seventh series contains interviews with Congression people by Hopkins alumnus, Philip Brenner, whose work was based on methods favored by Lewis A. Dexter. A card file listing names, position, and dates of persons interviewed is available. A typed list of persons interviewed also corresponds to the interviews in each series. One exception is Series 6: Voting Patterns. In Series 6 are are surveys, data, and polls related to the presidential campaigns of Adlai Stevenson (D. IL) in 1952, 1956.
