[Letter] 1857 Oct. 11, Nashville to [John Albert Broadus] / R.B.C. Howell. 1857.

Howell had recently left Richmond to pastor a church in Nashville. He wrote: "Landmarkism has done a destructive work throughout this whole region, not in dividing the churches, for they have not life enough to divide, but in drying up all spirituality in the churches and in the ministry, and in closing the ears of the people against our preaching."
