This series contains mostly correspondence, but also includes minutes, conference papers, and financial statements. The folder titles are those that were on the original file folders. Most correspondence is filed under a particular subject, such as personnel, literature for Latin mission work, and Iglesia Luterana Mexicana, the Mexican Lutheran church. There are also some correspondence files for individuals who served on the commission. Alvin Koehler's correspondence is mostly from his time as Commission on Mexican Missions director. John Scherzer's correspondence is from his time as secretary and chairman; Edward Sagebiel's is from his time as chairman. These correspondence files are not large enough to constitute their own series within correspondence.
