Telling him to "fix [his] visit for whenever [he] please[s]"; saying that he accepts Macready's offer to be his son's godfather "with hearty and fervent satisfaction"; asking Macready to be the godfather of his next child [Kate Macready Dickens]; sending Mrs. Macready a number of Nicholas Nickleby; saying he is going to send him a translation of a German play that he is sure "will amuse [Macready] very much."
